Our big D&D arc came to an end today; strangely, the climactic battle was with the big baddy's body guards - two lycanthrope infected undead versions of party members that had died earlier in the story line.

While the DM had hit them with several templates to make them *very* dangerous (these were two of the more overpowered characters that were killed off for balance reasons...) he hadn't given them any hit dice progression. So I rebuked their 9 HD asses and the rest of my party carved them up and we flame striked the remains just to be sure.

My divine victory over them (keep in mind that they half killed three PCs, including myself - down from 98 to 11 hp - in ONE ROUND) was short lived as the DM had me record "Lycanthrope Antagonist" on my character sheet.

You see, both those characters had contracted Weretiger lycanthropy before they died the first time; the magical disease combined with a surprisingly powerful gentle repose apparently caused them to animate. In the months since they zombied off, they had apparently allied with the big bad and started their own cultish following. To their 'children' they were seen as gods.

So now there's going to be a huge undead weretiger vs dragon cult war looming as another DM takes over the reigns for a bit. It'll be awesome.
